Myths served a purpose for explaning the unexplanable, but when the myths were busted by science and/or experience, the myths should have died quietly.

You know, Science did explain the rainbow!
by free2beme inrecently it was after a raining morning, the sun came out and the rainbow appeared.
my jehovah's witness father-in-law turns to me and says, "there is the symbol that jehovah will not flood the world again.
" i started laughing and responded, "no, that is just what myth explained it to be in the past.

My mom said that to my aunt who has a Ph.D. and she laughed at it. My aunt was raised as a JW but quit at age 16, so she knows the difference between the University of Asleep! and a university.

You're welcome. It was only after I dropped the whole "god cares about us and depend on him" idea that my prayers to me got answered because I quit depending on an outside source to care for me. I depend on me, maybe not as much as I could, but I don't blame anyone like the devil for problems or expect anyone to give me everything. I pray to god and get no answer. I pray to myself (not a Christian type prayer but you know what I mean) and I get them all answered. It's so liberating. I had the hardest time understanding that we can't blame the devil for our mistakes but we can blame the devil for government leaders' mistakes and badness. That left it open for "are we accountable or not?"

I am on such a roll here. How about solar panels? Hmm? How about those water tanks put in the sun to heat and give off a lot of heat? Hmm? OK, thanks to this thread, I can successfully argue against the flood. The food in frozen animals' mouths prove an ice age, not a flood. That food would have rotted or floated out of the animals' mouths in the flood way before they were frozen in the Arctics. They found FRESH food in their mouths. Quick freeze while still alive, not drowned.

If crystals were discovered before the "flood," then people would have seen rainbows er crystalbows. Also, all they would have to do is look at a waterfall and see a rainbow. The mist and shower from them create rainbows.

Is that why Venus is so hot? We see it through an all encompassing cloud. It is closer to the sun, but still, it is covered by greenhouse-like clouds. It would make sense.

I meant that there is no time between an emergency and legal warrant to sieze the kids to save their lives. You have to wait for the warrant to be signed by the judge and by that time, they could have died.

JW's say that life is sacred? They don't practise it. Three things are more sacred than life: Blood, political nuetrality, and sexual chastity. You are expected to die protecting those things. Makes me sick. Would you say that the courts are pretty fair when it comes to protecting kids? If so, then they made the right decision to take them and care for their medical needs. I wonder how many die while the lawyer is running to the courthouse to get a warrant to take kids from dangerous situations. Medical problems can happen in seconds. There is no time between an emergency and obtaining a warrant.

Because, the two that died were in danger but the four that didn't die may not have been in the same danger as the other two. I don't think the courts should have such an easy time taking children away from their parents. I agree the court did the right thing IF the kids were in danger, but not as a panic response.
